Skyracer Consulting

Project Proposal

The Objective

We’re going to work together to create an online presence for Skyracer Consulting where:

  • clients can reach you for consulting and public speaking engagements.

  • you can highlight your business capabilities and connect with like-minded partners.
  • you can show off your cutting-edge aerospace tech and defense brand.

YOUR NEW SITE

Key Components

Based on our conversation, our team has identified key components that will benefit you the most. You are welcome to decline any of these components if you do not wish to include them.

Homepage
Your site’s roadmap will link to your various services, with call to action elements driving clients to fill out the contact form.

About
You’ll need a good headshot, action shots of you at work, and a summary of your company’s success story.

Case Studies
Listing clients are great, testimonials are better, but giving some context in a case study is best. A couple of case studies will serve you for years to come.

Services
Highlighting what you do clearly, the people you serve, and the solution you provide will attract the clients you’re looking for.

Call to Action
Strategic placement of a contact form at the bottom of each page will drive clients to your inbox. We’ll also link call to action buttons on every page to drive people to the contact form.

Process & Pricing
Outlining your process in advance gives your clients confidence in your abilities and removes some of the mystery (fear) of working with you. Price ranges filter out many of the “dead on arrival” inquiries, saving you time and resources. Since you’re a one-man show, this is super important.

Blog
Giving content away for free helps win clients over. Take this up a notch with search engine optimized content to drive traffic straight from Google. Because Google ranks pages and posts, not sites, the more search engine optimized content you have, the more traffic Google will send your way.

OUR PROCESS

Step 1 | Design Interview

We’re going to get to the bottom of who you are and what you’re about. What problems you solve and the value you bring to your clients. Once we have a solid grasp of your company’s identity, we’ll be set up for success to create a design that portrays your unique value and resonates with the people you want to do business with.

We’ll also take inspiration from the three example sites you provided: Hermeus, Wells & Associates, Laurie Reuttimann.

Step 2 | Design Presentation

We will share our initial design concept with you and tweak it until approved. We’ll work with you to incorporate your brand into the design. We usually do this by showing you a quick mock up of your homepage.

Step 3 | Website Construction

Now that we have the design locked-in, we’ll build your site. Once you send us your photos and specific language to make your “voice” loud and clear, we’ll begin construction.

From start to finish, it usually takes between 4-7 weeks to get a new site live.

STEP 4 | TWEAKS AND ADJUSTMENTS

Once the first draft is complete, we’ll present the site to you and highlight the various components. We’ll do two rounds of changes based on your feedback.

STEP 5 | LAUNCH

We’ll do a full site audit to ensure links are correct, forms go to the proper emails, nothing is out of place, and we fully optimize all content to ensure the site loads faster than Google standards.

We’ll launch late on a Friday night to give us the chance to get any issues ironed out over the weekend.

You can sleep easy knowing we’ll be on-call over your launch weekend to ensure everything goes according to plan and will provide support for 30 days following launch.

YOUR INVESTMENT

The Cost

We believe good web design, managed hosting, and SEO services are an investment that will increase your bottom line over time. Often, they pay for themselves many times over in the first year alone.

Below you can see the different services we suggest for your project. Each service is à la carte, allowing you to select only the services you value. The cost of each service is based on our understanding of your unique needs and the anticipated work required to meet them.

This is paid according to the timeline set in our Terms & Conditions. Paying promptly allows us to get straight into our process so you can get the boost you’re looking for without delay.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHO is skout media?

We're an eclectic, knowledgeable team with an extensive range of passions. Each member is an expert in their field, and we’ve assembled them to do what they love: sharing their passion and knowledge with the world.

In addition to running our own niche sites, we provide web design services, managed WordPress hosting, and SEO keyword research.

How Do You Help Clients?

Investing in a website should increase your bottom line over time. To ensure we don't waste your money, we ask ourselves two big questions:

1. Can we help you with your goals? If not, we tell you right away and decline to build the site. We just don't believe in getting paid to do a job if we don't believe we can deliver the results you're looking for.

2. What's the low-hanging fruit? We believe in taking advantage of the easy wins early to ensure your website pays for itself as quickly as possible. This applies to both our design and SEO services.

Does Website Design include ongoing Site Maintenance?

Our website design services include 30 days of support after launch. If you're interested in ongoing support after that time, check out our managed WordPress hosting.

Will Your SEO Services Increase my traffic?

Due to the ever-changing nature of Google's algorithms and how competitive the internet is, we can't guarantee your traffic will increase, especially since one of the key factors is the quality of your blog posts.

We can say the method we use helps thousands of sites grow their traffic. We learned from the best and want to pass that knowledge on to you.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Details of the work

You, Skyracer Consulting, LLC, are hiring us, Skout Media, LLC, to design and develop a website for the estimated total price outlined above.

You certify that you have the power and ability to enter into this contract on behalf of your company or organization. You agree to provide us with everything that I need to complete the project, including text, images, fonts, and other information as and when we need it and in the format that we ask for. You agree to review our work, provide feedback, and sign-off approval promptly and are bound by any deadlines that we set together. You also agree to keep to the payment schedule set out in this proposal.

We have the experience and ability to perform the services you need, and we will carry them out in a professional and timely manner. We will endeavor to meet all the deadlines set but are not responsible for a missed launch date or deadlines if you have been late in supplying materials or have not approved our work on time at any stage. We will also maintain the confidentiality of any information that you give us.

We will create designs for the look, layout, and functionality of your website. This contract includes one main design and two opportunities for you to make revisions to the final design. If you are not happy with the design at that point, we will provide you with an additional quote for the extra design work needed. If you wish to cancel our agreement, you may do so, and we will retain the payments for the work completed to date.

Design Testing

We will test our designs in current versions of all major browsers, including those made by Apple, Microsoft, and Google.

We will not test these templates in old or abandoned browsers, for example, Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows or Mac, previous versions of Apple's Safari, Mozilla Firefox, or Chrome unless otherwise agreed upon.

Text content

We are not responsible for writing or inputting any text copy. We will be happy to help, but significant work on our part will result in a charge above and beyond the original price. This will not be done without your approval of an additional quote provided in advance.

Photographs

If needed, you will supply us with photographs either in digital or printed format. If you choose to buy stock photographs, that price will be added to the initial quote. Stock photography will not be purchased without your written approval. You are also encouraged to check sites like Unsplash.com for royalty-free stock images.

Changes and revisions

The estimate/quotation prices in this proposal are based on the time we estimate we will need to accomplish everything you have told us you want to achieve. If you want to change your mind, add extra pages, or even add new functionality, that won't be a problem. At that time, you will be provided with an additional quote for the extra work.

Technical support

The quote provided includes the installation of your site on your server. Updates to and management of that server, plus any support issues or integrations like Google Analytics, will be up to you unless you choose to purchase our managed hosting service.

We do not offer or include technical support for website hosting, email, or other services relating to website hosting unless you choose to purchase our managed hosting service.

Legal

I am not liable to you or any third party for damages, including lost profits, lost savings, or other incidental, consequential or special damages arising out of the operation of or inability to operate this website and any other web pages—even if you have advised me of the possibilities of such damages.

If any provision of this agreement shall be unlawful, void, or for any reason is unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this agreement and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.

Copyrights

You guarantee that you either own any elements of text, graphics, photos, designs, trademarks, or other artwork that you provide for inclusion in the website or that you have permission to use them.

When we receive your final payment, copyright is automatically assigned as follows:

You own the visual elements that we create for you for this project. We will give you a copy of all files, and you should store them carefully as we are not required to keep them or provide any native source files that we used in making them.

You also own text content, photographs, and other data you provided unless someone else owns them. I own the HTML markup, CSS, and other code, and I license it to you for use on only this project.

I also reserve the right to display a link in the footer, link to your completed project as part of my portfolio, and write about the project on/in websites, magazines, and books.

Payments

Our payment schedule will be as follows but may be revised based on further conversations between us.

  • 25% of the total fee upon approval of the proposal (deposit)
  • 50% of the total fee upon agreement of initial design
  • 100% of the total fee on completion of the project (balance)

We accept payments via check or PayPal. If paying electronically, we charge an additional 3% processing fee.

Contract Transfer

You cannot transfer this contract to anyone else without our permission. This contract stays in place and need not be renewed. If for some reason, one part of this contract becomes invalid or unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this agreement and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions, and the remaining parts of it remain in place.
