The Objective

We’re going to work together to create an online presence for KDS Insights where:

  • government agencies can verify your identity and get a sense of how established you are so you can land more contracts. 
  • you can list job openings to meet government regulations.
  • you can engage other small businesses looking to launch into the government contracting space.

YOUR NEW SITE

Key Components

Based on our conversation, our team has identified key components that will benefit you the most. You are welcome to decline any of these components if you do not wish to include them.

Homepage
Your site’s roadmap will lead to the different silos on your page. We’ll utilize call-to-action boxes to drive engagement and map your site design around studied and proven web visitor psychology. 

About
You’ll need good headshots of your team, action shots of you at work, and a summary of your organization’s overarching success story. Showcasing your success and how you solve problems will be vital. 

Capabilities
Highlighting what you do clearly, the people you serve, and the solution you provide will attract the partners you’re looking for.

Job Postings
We’ll create a space for you to post job postings where you can accept applications and get connected to qualified candidates. Depending on your needs here, you may need to purchase a premium plugin or form service of some kind. If we both determine that’s the best course of action, we’ll assist with the selection of the best tool.

Contact Form
We will strategically place a contact form on the pages where it makes sense so those who need to reach out can do so easily. 

OUR PROCESS

Step 1 | Design Interview

We need to get to the bottom of who you are and what you’re about. What problems you solve and the value you bring to those you do business with. Once we have a solid grasp of your company’s identity, we’ll be set up for success to create a web design that portrays your unique value and resonates with the people you want to partner with.

We’ll also take inspiration from the three example sites you provided: Barbaricum, MTSI, Inc., and Ingenia Services

Step 2 | Design Presentation

We will share our initial design concept with you and tweak it until approved. We usually do this by showing you a quick mock-up of your homepage.

Step 3 | Website Construction

Now that we have the design locked-in, we’ll build your site. Once you approve the design presentation and send us all the photos you think we can use, we’ll begin construction.

From start to finish, it usually takes between 4-7 weeks to get a new site live.

STEP 4 | PRESENTATION & REVISIONS

Once the first draft is complete, we’ll present the site to you and highlight the various components. We include two rounds of revisions in our pricing.

STEP 5 | LAUNCH

We’ll do a full site audit to ensure links are correct, forms go to the proper emails, nothing is out of place, and we fully optimize all content to ensure the site loads faster than Google standards.

We’ll launch on a Friday to give us the chance to get any issues ironed out over the weekend.

You can sleep easy knowing we’ll be on-call over your launch week to ensure everything goes according to plan and will provide support for 30 days following launch. If you want us to be on call beyond 30 days, check out our site management plan.

Web Development

We believe good web design, site management, and design retainer services are an investment that will increase your ability to carry out your mission over time. Often, they pay for themselves many times over in the first year alone. 

Below you can see the different services we suggest for your project. Each service is à la carte, allowing you to select only the services you value. The cost of each service is based on our understanding of your unique needs and the anticipated work required to meet them.

Please note, we also charge a 5% administration fee on every project. This covers our time preparing the proposal, writing and responding to emails, phone calls and messages, and all other administrative work related to your project. 

This is paid according to the timeline set in our Terms & Conditions. Paying promptly allows us to get straight into our process so you can get the boost you’re looking for without delay.

Please Note: Our brand consultants set their own fees for logo design, font pairings, graphic design, and brand style board development. We will pair you with a consultant based on your needs and budget. To keep things simple, we’ll put all the charges on a single invoice.

1. Can we help you with your goals? If not, we tell you right away and decline to build the site. We don't believe in getting paid to do a job if we don't believe we can deliver the results you're looking for.

2. What's the low-hanging fruit? We believe in taking advantage of the easy wins early to ensure your website pays for itself as quickly as possible.

Does Website Design include ongoing Site MaNAgement?

Our website design services include 30 days of support after launch. If you're interested in ongoing support after that time, check out our site management and retainer plans.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE SITE MANagement PLAN?

With our site management plan, you get ultra-fast hosting at a great price and peace of mind knowing the people who built your site are keeping it running smoothly. We take care of plugin updates, monthly audits, ongoing speed optimization, and we'll fix your site if anything breaks. We also monitor your site's security. 

You also get to take advantage of our premium theme licenses. If you choose to manage your site independently, we strongly recommend purchasing your own licenses to continue receiving these updates. Under the terms of our licenses, we can only provide updates to sites we manage.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE DESIGN RETAINER PLAN?

The design retainer plan includes 2 hours of design updates to your site each month (a $250 value). At $150/month, this plan more than pays for itself.

You also get priority over all our other non-retainer clients. This means when you need changes or updates, you'll get them within 1-2 weeks instead of being put on the waiting list.

Finally, to sweeten the deal, we want to thank you with a 10% discount on all design needs that go beyond the included two hours (not including new site builds).

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Details of the Work

You are hiring us, Skout Media, LLC, to design and develop a website for the estimated total price outlined above.

You certify that you have the power and ability to enter into this contract on behalf of your company or organization. You agree to provide us with everything that I need to complete the project, including text, images, fonts, and other information as and when we need it and in the format that we ask for. You agree to review our work, provide feedback, and sign-off approval promptly and are bound by any deadlines that we set together. You also agree to keep to the payment schedule set out in this proposal.

We have the experience and ability to perform the services you need, and we will carry them out in a professional and timely manner. We will endeavor to meet all the deadlines set but are not responsible for a missed launch date or deadlines if you have been late in supplying materials or have not approved our work on time at any stage. We will also maintain the confidentiality of any information that you give us.

We will create designs for the look, layout, and functionality of your website. This contract includes one main design and two opportunities for you to make revisions to the final design. If you are not happy with the design at that point, we will provide you with an additional quote for the extra design work needed. If you wish to cancel our agreement, you may do so, and we will retain the payments for the work completed to date.

Design Testing

We will test our designs in current versions of all major browsers, including those made by Apple, Microsoft, and Google. We also confirm sites look great on current iPhones, Androids, standard sized tablets, and computer monitors. 

We will not test these templates in old or abandoned browsers, for example, Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows or Mac, previous versions of Apple's Safari, Mozilla Firefox, or Chrome unless otherwise agreed upon.

Text Content

We are not responsible for writing or inputting any text copy, unless copywriting is included in the pricing chart above. We will be happy to help, but significant work on our part will result in a charge above and beyond the original price. This will not be done without your approval of an additional quote provided in advance.

Photographs

If needed, you will supply us with photographs either in digital or printed format. If you choose to buy stock photographs, that price will be added to the initial quote. Stock photography will not be purchased without your written approval. You are also encouraged to check sites like Unsplash.com for royalty-free stock images.

Changes and Revisions

The estimate/quotation prices in this proposal are based on the time we estimate we will need to accomplish everything you have told us you want to achieve. If you want to change your mind, add extra pages, or even add new functionality, that won't be a problem. At that time, you will be provided with an additional quote for the extra work.

Technical Support

The quote provided includes the installation of your site on your server. Updates to and management of that server, plus any support issues or integrations like Google Analytics, will be up to you unless you choose to purchase our site management plan.

We do not offer or include technical support for website hosting, email, or other services relating to website hosting unless you choose to purchase our site management plan.

Legal

I am not liable to you or any third party for damages, including lost profits, lost savings, or other incidental, consequential or special damages arising out of the operation of or inability to operate this website and any other web pages—even if you have advised me of the possibilities of such damages.

If any provision of this agreement shall be unlawful, void, or for any reason is unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this agreement and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.

Copyrights

You guarantee that you either own any elements of text, graphics, photos, designs, trademarks, or other artwork that you provide for inclusion in the website or that you have permission to use them.

When we receive your final payment, copyright is automatically assigned as follows:

You own the visual elements that we create for you for this project. We will give you a copy of all files, and you should store them carefully as we are not required to keep them or provide any native source files that we used in making them.

You also own text content, photographs, and other data you provided unless someone else owns them. I own the HTML markup, CSS, and other code, and I license it to you for use on only this project.

I also reserve the right to display a link in the footer, link to your completed project as part of my portfolio, and write about the project on/in websites, magazines, and books.

Payments

Our payment schedule will be as follows but may be revised based on further conversations between us. Please note, we charge a 3% administrative charge to cover the time we spend scheduling meetings, reading and responding to emails, and making phone calls.

  • 50% of the total fee upon approval of the proposal (deposit)
  • 100% of the total fee on completion of the project (balance)

We accept payments via check or PayPal.

Contract Transfer

You cannot transfer this contract to anyone else without our permission. This contract stays in place and need not be renewed. If for some reason, one part of this contract becomes invalid or unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this agreement and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions, and the remaining parts of it remain in place.
