The Objective

We’re going to work together to create an online presence for the Dundee Dell where:

  • your refreshed brand is on display. 
  • guests can purchase gift cards, see the menu, and inquire about private events. 
  • prospective staff can submit applications and contact you with questions.

YOUR NEW SITE

Key Components

Based on our conversation, we’ve identified key components that will benefit you the most. You’re welcome to decline any of these components if you don’t wish to include them

HOMEPAGE

Your site will have a simple-to-navigate homepage that will highlight your refreshed brand while connecting guests with the information they need.

GIFT CARDS, Loyalty Programs, and Private events

We’ll feature your gift card program, and if you want to add a loyalty program we can feature that on the site as well. We’ll also add a call to action with an inquiry for private event rates. 

EMAIL CAPTURE

Let’s use your site to grow your email list, allowing you to promote special events and engage with your guests as regularly as you like.

SOCIAL MEDIA

The more followers you can get on social, the more you can stay front of mind with your guests. We’ll add prevalent social icons to encourage people to follow you online.

LOCATION AND CONTACT INFO

Each site will feature directions to help guests find their way to an evening of great food, cocktails, and conversations. We’ll also include contact information and a contact form so your guests and prospective staff can connect with you.

Future Brands

We can add links to the footer each time you open a new brand. This will ensure fans of the Dundee Dell will know about any future concepts when they open. 

Google or Microsoft Integration

We can link your new site to your Google or Microsoft account so you can get right to work using your custom domain email, spreadsheets, text editors, group chat apps, and more.

OUR PROCESS

Step 1 | Design Interview

We’re going to get to the bottom of who you are and what you’re about. Once we have a solid grasp of your company’s identity, we’ll be set up for success to create a design that portrays your unique value and resonates with the people you want to attract.

Step 2 | Design Presentation

We will share our initial design concept with you and tweak it until approved. We’ll work with you to incorporate your brand into the design. We usually do this by showing you a quick mock-up of your homepage.

Step 3 | Website Construction

Now that we have the design locked in, we’ll build your site. Once you send us your photos and specific language to make your “voice” loud and clear, we’ll begin construction.

From start to finish, it usually takes between 2-5 weeks to get a new site live. The timing largely depends on how quickly you provide the copy writing and graphic content.

STEP 4 | TWEAKS AND ADJUSTMENTS

Once the first draft is complete, we’ll present the site to you and highlight the various components. Our pricing includes two rounds of revisions based on your feedback.

STEP 5 | LAUNCH

We’ll do a full site audit to ensure links are correct, forms go to the proper emails, and nothing is out of place. We fully optimize all content to ensure the site loads as fast as possible. Keep in mind, not all hosting is created equally. If you use budget hosting, your site speed will reflect that.

We’ll launch early in the week to give us the chance to get any issues ironed out before the weekend crowd comes knocking on your door.

You can sleep easy knowing we’ll be on-call over your launch week to ensure everything goes according to plan and will provide support for 30 days following launch. For extended support, see our site maintenance plan.

We believe good website design, site maintenance, and design retainer services are an investment that will increase your bottom line over time. Depending on your business, they often pay for themselves many times over in the first year alone. 

Below you can see the different services we can offer for your project. Each service is à la carte, allowing you to select only the services you value. The cost of each service is based on our understanding of your unique needs and the anticipated work required to meet them.

This is paid according to the timeline set in our Terms & Conditions. Paying promptly allows us to get straight to work so you can get the boost you’re looking for without delay.

CUSTOM GRAPHICS

If you have any custom graphics needs, let us know! We charge hourly for custom graphics and can give you an estimate on the total cost before adding it to your invoice. We make graphics in-house and also have a number of graphic designers that we partner with to get you the awesome graphics you need in a timely manner.

1. Can we help you with your goals? If not, we tell you right away and decline to build the site. We don't believe in getting paid to do a job if we don't believe we can deliver the results you're looking for.

2. What's the low-hanging fruit? We believe in taking advantage of the easy wins early to ensure your website pays for itself as quickly as possible.

Does Website Design include ongoing Site Maintenance or changes?

Our website design services include 30 days of support after launch. If you're interested in ongoing support after that time, check out our site maintenance and retainer plans.

What are the benefits of the site maintenance plan?

With our site maintenance plan, you get ultra-fast hosting at a great price and peace of mind knowing the people who built your site are keeping it running smoothly.

You also get to take advantage of our premium theme license, which provides regular updates to keep your site running smoothly. If you choose to maintain your site independently, we strongly recommend purchasing your own license to continue receiving these updates. Under the terms of our license, we can only provide updates to sites we maintain.

What are the benefits of the design retainer plan?

The design retainer plan includes 2 hours of design updates to your site each month (a $190 value). At $95/month, this plan more than pays for itself.

You also get priority over all our other non-retainer clients. This means when you need changes or updates, you'll get them within 1-2 weeks instead of being put on the waiting list.

To sweeten the deal even further, you get a 10% discount on all design needs that go beyond the included two hours and 5% off future site design projects.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Details of the work

You are hiring us, Skout Media, LLC, to design and develop a website(s) for the estimated total price outlined above.

You certify that you have the power and ability to enter into this contract on behalf of your company or organization. You agree to provide us with everything that we need to complete the project, including text, images, fonts, and other information as and when we need it and in the format that we ask for. You agree to review our work, provide feedback, and sign-off approval promptly and are bound by any deadlines that we set together. You also agree to keep to the payment schedule set out in this proposal.

We have the experience and ability to perform the services you need, and we will carry them out in a professional and timely manner. We will endeavor to meet all the deadlines set but are not responsible for a missed launch date or deadlines if you have been late in supplying materials or have not approved our work on time at any stage. We will also maintain the confidentiality of any information that you give us.

We will create designs for the look, layout, and functionality of your website. This contract includes one main design and two opportunities for you to make revisions to the final design. If you are not happy with the design at that point, we will provide you with an additional quote for the extra design work needed. If you wish to cancel our agreement, you may do so, and we will retain the payments for the work completed to date.

Design Testing

We will test our designs in current versions of all major browsers, including those made by Apple, Microsoft, and Google.

We will not test these templates in old or abandoned browsers, for example, Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows or Mac, previous versions of Apple's Safari, Mozilla Firefox, or Chrome unless otherwise agreed upon.

Text content

We are not responsible for writing or inputting any text copy. We will be happy to help, but significant work on our part will result in a charge above and beyond the original price. This will not be done without your approval of an additional quote provided in advance.

Photographs

If needed, you will supply us with photographs either in digital or printed format. If you choose to buy stock photographs, that price will be added to the initial quote. Stock photography will not be purchased without your written approval. You are also encouraged to check sites like Unsplash.com for royalty-free stock images.

Changes and revisions

The estimate/quotation prices in this proposal are based on the time we estimate we will need to accomplish everything you have told us you want to achieve. If you want to change your mind, add extra pages, or even add new functionality, that won't be a problem. At that time, you will be provided with an additional quote for the extra work. For anything outside the scope of this original agreement, we may charge an additional 30% scope fee to our normal hourly rate.

Technical support

The quote provided includes the installation of your site on your server. Updates to and management of that server, plus any support issues or integrations like Google Analytics, will be up to you unless you choose to purchase our managed hosting service.

We do not offer or include technical support for website hosting, email, or other services relating to website hosting unless you choose to purchase our site maintenance plan.

Legal

We are not liable to you or any third party for damages, including lost profits, lost savings, or other incidental, consequential or special damages arising out of the operation of or inability to operate this website and any other web pages—even if you have advised me of the possibilities of such damages.

If any provision of this agreement shall be unlawful, void, or for any reason is unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this agreement and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.

Copyrights

You guarantee that you either own any elements of text, graphics, photos, designs, trademarks, or other artwork that you provide for inclusion in the website or that you have permission to use them.

When we receive your final payment, copyright is automatically assigned as follows:

You own the visual elements that we create for you for this project, and you should store them carefully as we are not required to keep them or provide any native source files that we used in making them.

You also own text content, photographs, and other data you provided unless someone else owns them. We own the HTML markup, CSS, and other code, and we license it to you for use on only this project.

We own our premium theme license and cannot share it with you unless you purchase our site maintenance plan. This means if you wish to continue receiving theme updates, you will need to purchase your own license. 

We also reserve the right to display a link in the footer, link to your completed project as part of our portfolio, and write about the project on/in websites, magazines, and books.

Payments

Our payment schedule will be as follows but may be revised based on further conversations between us.

  • 50% of the total fee upon approval of the proposal (deposit)
  • 100% of the total fee on completion of the project (balance)

We accept payments via check or PayPal.

Contract Transfer

You cannot transfer this contract to anyone else without our permission. This contract stays in place and need not be renewed. If for some reason, one part of this contract becomes invalid or unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this agreement and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions, and the remaining parts of it remain in place.
